WHAT ABOUT EASTER?

Easter is a Christian feast day - which are significant days in the life of Jesus Christ or saints. But unlike most days in the Christian calendar, Easter does not have a fixed date.

Easter feast days are moveable days, in that they don't fall on a fixed date in the normal Gregorian or Julian calendars, which follow the cycle of the sun.

Easter instead is determined by the lunar calendar, which is based on the phases of the moon.

Easter is scheduled to fall on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox around March 21.

The Spring, or March, Vernal Equinox is the moment the sun crosses the celestial equator – the imaginary line in the sky above the Earth’s equator – from south to north.

So, in Western Christianity, Easter will always fall between March 22 and April 25.

ENGLAND DEFEATED GERMANY IN A STUNNING COME-BACK SAGA

England staged a magnificent comeback to beat World Cup holders Germany as manager Roy Hodgson's new breed excelled in Berlin.

Germany looked to have spoiled a promising England display with goals either side of the interval - Toni Kroos' long-range shot deceiving keeper Jack Butland, who was then carried off injured, before Mario Gomez headed past his deputy Fraser Forster.

England, with 19-year-old Dele Alli magnificent, responded in style through Harry Kane's low finish and Jamie Vardy's first international goal, an audacious 74th-minute flick at the near post from Nathaniel Clyne's cross.

A draw would have done a makeshift England side credit but, after Alli missed an easy chance, his Spurs team-mate Eric Dier powered home an injury-time header from Jordan Henderson's corner.

It may only have been a friendly, but this was the perfect result and morale-booster for Hodgson and England as they put their plans in place for Euro 2016 in France this summer.

MANNY PACQUIAO BLAMED DEFEAT ON INJURY

Manny Pacquiao blamed a shoulder injury for his defeat by Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas, claiming it stopped him from using his right hand.

American Mayweather, 38, defeated rival Pacquiao at the MGM Grand and was awarded a wide unanimous decision.
Pacquiao, 36, said he thought he did enough to win the fight, despite most observers agreeing with the verdict.
Three weeks before the fight I got a tear in my right shoulder," he said. "It got better but it wasn't 100%."
Mayweather started the brighter of the two and rocked Pacquiao with a number of right hand counter punches in the early exchanges.
The Filipino came back at the American in the fourth round, stunning Mayweather with a left hand and again in the sixth round but was never able to back it up and Mayweather ran out a comfortable winner the judges scorecards.

UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS STUDENT UNION ELECTION TO HOLD NEXT WEEK

Prior to the return of the University of Lagos student union (ULSU), the first of its kind election to kick-off the official come-back of the union holds next week Thursday, 26-03-2015 which will also be the day when newly elected leaders will be sworn into office.
The most competitive post remains the office of the public relations officer (P.R.O) with five aspirants from all top five faculties in Akoka main campus while the office of the financial secretary and welfare stands unopposed. Vying for the presidential office is one Olusola Oshin from the Faculty of Law who looks like the favorite already amongst other two aspirants.
Forms for the electoral college that will ensure the rights of students as a member of the electorate is expected to be submitted latest today to respective faculty offices on both campuses.
There is likely to be a lecture free day too but this is yet affirmed by the school governing board.

For sometimes now there has been a lot of struggling in getting pure water sachet on campus as owned to the short comings in supplies by the Unilag water company.

No protest yet but with the looks of things there might be soon if it persists  as students are already reacting to buying #50 table water when you simply can get ten sachet of it at the same price instead.

WIZKID CONFIRMS THE RELEASE OF 'OJUELEGBA' REMIX

FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE, UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS HOSTS FRESHER'S BARBEQUE NIGHT TODAY

The freshers in the faculty of social science, University of Lagos will today experience a first barbeque night on campus holding later today as scheduled for 8pm inside the faculty premises.
It promises to be lot of fun and students from all faculties are invited.
Barbeque and drinks will be in excess plus lots and lots of excitements too.

GOOGLE REVERSES BAN ON PORN PICTURES

Several online news sites had reported last week that blogger users would no longer be able to post sexually explicit pictures and videos on the platform starting from March 23 but after receiving negative feedback from users, Google social product support manager Jessica Pelegio disclosed that the company will instead 'step up enforcement' of its existing policy prohibiting commercial porn.
In further reports President of the Internet Users Association (IUA) has continue to condemn Google's decision to forbid users to its blogger platform to share images and videos of explictly sexual contents saying it was an attack of freedom of expression.
Relating to the news, YouTube sited an example of an Asian pornographic video uploaded on the site against their managerial guidelines of what was immediately addressed and blocked after flagged alert and thereby advised Google to rather take onto flagging adult content alerts than totally restricting it from interested users.

UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS FACULTY OF PHARMACY TODAY INDUCTS 138 STUDENTS.

As part of the on-going 30th anniversary celebration of  the University of Lagos, Faculty of Pharmacy.
An induction ceremony held at the university's main campus auditorium today saw a total of 138 students certified as graduands.
Award of best graduating student was presented to Miss Abdullai Odunnayo Hiqmat and was accompanied with prizes from Pharmacy Council Nigeria (PCN), Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Professor Olukemi A. Odukoya, FPSN, Pfizer science and Pill box pharmacy.
Special awards however was also given to another Miss Okeke Chidinma Linda courtesy Bowl of Hygeia.
The chairman of the occasion Sir Ike Onyechi, who is also the C.E.O of Alpha Pharmacy encouraged students of the distinctions required of their services outside the four walls of the university.
Representing the Vice Chancellor of the university was Professor Babajide Alo who advised the graduands also to keep track of their good records, positively representing the image of the school, nation and selves.
The anniversary continues till the end of the week.

FLAVOUR AND CHIDINMA DATING?

In a recent collaboration, Flavour and Chidinma displayed the lovey-dovey thingy that got fans and media assuming the two to be dating. The song titled 'Ololufe' was purposed for the valentine season with such a beautiful rnb sound and a lovely all-white video directed by South-African based brand, Godfather.
First was 'Oh Baby' Chidinma featuring the tall, fair, handsome singer but nothing special caught attention in the video like it did in the remix with Tiwa Savage and now in the Ololufe video.
Flavour is probably the sexiest Nigerian male artiste and seeing him involved with top divas in the industry should not really turn up watcher mouths but it did anyways.

Tola : aka buroda Tola aka Mr ege ‘starch’ Lol. Did you know this guy is Tunmise’s broda? Well he is. If you look closely, you will see he is cute too. Tola is definitely one of the happening guys in masscomm too. He is charismatic, mature and very funny. LOL he actually is the class’s clown. But asides that, he dresses very well, he has a good dress sense. Let’s proceed to rating him.

Barbara : Barbara is very very cute. She is fair in complexion with lovely lips. She is definitely one of the hottest girls in the department. She has a very cute smile, she is full figured with a thick ass. Barbara is one care free person, she loves to play and have fun with her friends only and she is very cool in general. Although she loves to play, you would never see her roaming around, if she is not going to class, she is definitely in the hostel. I like that.

Damilare : Damilare is an easy going and a very intelligent boy. I often notice how his friends struggle to seat beside him during tests and exams, his head too will now be swelling like there is yeast inside it. ‘just kidding’But anyway, damilare is a very nice person I can attest to that. He is skinny, of average height and actually has a very nice set of white teeth. Let us proceed to rating him.
Good looks – 5 (he is not so bad after all)
Appearance – 5 (you are stepping up your game brother)
Diction – 7 (even if you see damilare, you would tell he is one of those boti boys only that he looks a little haggard)
Composure – 7 (dami is composed on the outside, but maybe not around his friends)
